This is what kind of fracture I have:
- Pseudo-Jones Fracture
- An avulsion fracture of the fifth metatarsal that occurs where a tendon attaches to the bone at this point. When an Pseudo-Jones fracture occurs, the tendon pulls off a tiny fragment of bone from the base of the fifth metatarsal.
- In order to fix this problem surgeons have to place a screw in the small bone and attach it back to my fifth metatarsal.
- So I am having my surgery in 2 weeks (October 13, 2008). I will be in a cast & boot and on crutches for 6-8 weeks. So please pray for quick healing because I am student teaching at the moment and kind of makes my current money situation even worse! :( Just when I thought the medical bills would end...here come lots more! Right now I am having a very hard time trusting that God will provide for me, I just seem to be getting more depressed about the whole situation.
- So, Das Boot is here, I am wearing a foot boot for 2 weeks before my surgery and for many weeks after. Thus this blog is entitled Das Boot.

that stinks! I really hope for a good surgery and quick recovery for you!
Thanks I am really scared, first surgery for me.
I am so sorry to hear about your foot! That is crazy! I know how you feel about medical bills that seem to never stop, just as you think you've gotten a handle you get knocked down again!
In 2006 I got really sick and got in a lot of debt from it, then just last year I had to have surgery that once again put me in a couple thousand dollars...and then about 2 months ago I was diagnosed with MS so the feeling of not bing able to trust God, that you just feel beat down...I get it. While I don't claim to think my situation is just as yours is. Do know your not alone. For me personally what keeps me going and some days are definately harder than others is the promise-- that He will never give us more than we can handle. I truly belive if we trust and just be still and know He is God he provides, not always how we would have thought or even would want it to be...but I pray you will some how be encouraged and remember that its ok to be frusterated and for you to say this sucks...I'm not going to say the "christian" thing but know your not alone...and one day at time! Hang in there!

How did the surgery go?
I was looking for blogs on Jones fractures, as I did that two days ago and wondering how others recovered. Hope everything is going well.
